Der Produzent erkannte auf Anhieb die Originalit&auml;t des Pianisten und Komponisten und nahm ihn sofort unter Vertrag. In den folgenden f&uuml;nf Jahren nahm Monk in verschiedenen Konstellationen f&uuml;r das Label auf und dokumentierte so seine einzigartige Musik. Die 1956 erschienene 12-Zoll-Compilation "Genius of Modern Music, Vol. 2" enthielt Erstaufnahmen einiger der heute bekanntesten Monk-Kompositionen und begr&uuml;ndete dessen Ruf als originelles musikalisches Genie.&nbsp;</span></p>
