Das im Mai 1961 eingespielte Album "The Cat Walk" geh&ouml;rt zu den besten Aufnahmen dieses Gespanns. Mit Unterst&uuml;tzung einer von dem Pianisten Duke Pearson angef&uuml;hrten Rhythmusgruppe laufen die beiden Bl&auml;ser hier zu Hochform auf. Bis auf eine Nummer besteht das Programm ausschlie&szlig;lich aus swingenden Hard-Bop-Originalen von Byrd und Pearson.

Gemastert werden die LPs von Kevin Gray bei Cohearent Audio in den USA, gepresst in 180g bei Optimal in Deutschland. Original-Coverdesign und cellophanierte Innenh&uuml;llen geh&ouml;ren bei dieser Serie zum guten Ton.

Aufgenommen wurde "Tonic" im M&auml;rz 1999 in dem gleichnamigen Club in der Lower East Side von Manhattan. W&auml;hrend ihres neunt&auml;gigen Engagements spielten John Medeski (Klavier und Melodica), Billy Martin (Schlagzeug und Percussion) sowie Chris Wood (Bass) neben abenteuerlichen Eigenkompositionen auch Coverversionen von Lee Morgan, Bud Powell, John Coltrane und Jimi Hendrix. Das Album erscheint nun erstmals als Doppel-LP auf Vinyl.&nbsp;
