<p>Ein Jahrzehnt seiner Karriere als Musiker machte der Pianist Horace Silver das Album, das als Kronjuwel eines Katalogs mit zahlreichen Hardbop-Klassikern Bestand haben sollte. "Song for My Father" hielt den &Uuml;bergang seines Quintetts mit zwei Tracks fest, die aus einer Session im Oktober 1963 mit Blue Mitchell, Junior Cook, Gene Taylor und Roy Brooks stammen. Ein Jahr sp&auml;ter trat Silver erneut mit einer neuen Band mit Carmell Jones, Joe Henderson, Teddy Smith und Roger Humphries in das Van Gelder Studio ein Engagement f&uuml;r seinen Vater, das sowohl von seinem kapverdischen Erbe als auch von der Musik inspiriert war, die Silver k&uuml;rzlich auf einer Reise nach Brasilien geh&ouml;rt hatte.</p>
<p>Diese Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition ist komplett analog, wurde von Kevin Gray von den Original-Masterb&auml;ndern gemastert und auf 180 g Vinyl gepresst.</p>
